American Grace co-author David E. Campbell explains on Hardball that Tea Party supporters are much more likely to be conservative socially, ardent Republicans, anti-immigration with coolness towards blacks, and, more than most Republicans liking to mix religion and politics.

The public’s extremely low rating of the Tea Party (the lowest of 23 groups about which the Faith Matters Survey asked) stems from the fact that the positions of Tea Party supporters are moving contrary to public opinion.
